Every abode that you will see in Taltsy are real houses of real people. These buildings were from old abandoned villages that were moved and restored in Taltsy.

Many years ago, the ancestors of modern Buryats were nomadic people engaged in cattle breeding. They built yurts – temporary dwellings, as well as other outbuildings. One particular interest is the exposition «The House of the Shaman.»

Evenk village
Evenk people are the native inhabitants of Siberia engaged in reindeer husbandry. The Evenk village was reconstructed in Taltsy. Now tourists can see a tent made of logs and bark, labaz (a warehouse for storing food), drying devices, fishing nets, and much more.

Tofalar village
The Tofalar – these people live along the mountains of East Sayan (a mountain ridge). They are also nomadic, but living in a mountainous area left an imprint in their lives.

The museum offers a unique opportunity to test your skills in various crafts. Choose a master class to your liking: a blacksmith, a joiner, a tanner, a potter, or even a doll master! The cost of courses varies from 200 to 2000 roubles.

Every day, from 10:00 to 17:00
Ticket price:
Adults – 300 rubles
Kids – 50 rubles

How to get to Taltsy
The village is situated a bit closer to Irkutsk than Listvyanka. There is no problem getting to the town for 40 minutes.
Local drivers always stop in Taltsy by requirement. At the beginning of your route, say «Taltsy» to the driver, that is all! The fare is 120 roubles, and the journey time from Irkutsk is about 40 minutes.
You can get to Taltsy from the Bus station also. Buy tickets from the cashier in that case.
