The name of this small city can be translated as «city of Baikal.» The town is famous as a ski resort, maybe the best in Siberia. Thanks to the mild climate, ski season long for five months.

Every summer in July, the citizens of Baikalsk provide the Strawberry festival. Residents cook cakes, pancakes, pies, and many other different desserts of this berry. They also decorate their houses in a strawberry style!

Warm Lakes

The three picturesque lakes are located 38 from Baikalsk. In the wintertime, all lakes are frozen, but the water warms up to 30 degrees in summer. Yes, for Siberia, it is hot enough to call these lakes «warm.»
The lakes are the first part of the long tourist route. Further, you’ll see a relict forest, Monomakh Hat mountain, Talcinskiy Peak, and waterfalls.

Tankhoy Reserve

Tankhoy village is 70 km from Baikalsk. Most of all, the town attracts tourists who like nature and silence. On the territory of the reserve, you can see many picturesque places. Tankhoy Reserve’s nature helps to forget about the city’s noise.
